Kyle Swenson, P.E.
University of Southern California
B.S. - Mechanical Engineering
Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California
Kyle has worn multiple hats in the building construction industry throughout his engineering career. He first spent 4 years as a mechanical engineer with Integral Group, an MEP firm specializing in "Deep Green Engineering", where he worked on a multitude of large projects including higher education research laboratories, office spaces, high rise apartment complexes, food service facilities, and large central plant operations.
Kyle has also working in the software world as a control systems and retro-commissioning engineer where he successfully analyzed BMS data for many buildings in order to help clients improve the performance of their buildings and reduce their energy and operating costs.
Before moving to Bend and coming onboard with CEA, Kyle was the Director of Engineering for a small decentralized wastewater treatment company that was designing, installing, and operating small solids recovery and membrane bioreactor systems that would allow for the recycling of blackwater in large commercial buildings.

High Tech Institute
A.A. - Architecture
Brian has worked in many different aspects of the design industry from aviation, architecture, custom building, electrical, and plumbing. After completing his education, he went to work for Boeing in Seattle where he started work on the Boeing 777, but moved on to the design team working on the F22 Raptor. After deciding to return to Bend, he went to work as a consultant for Boeing designing and helping to fabricate aviation ground support equipment for specialty planes like the AWAX and Airforce 1.
His love of Architecture was never gone, and when an opportunity came to get back to designing homes, he jumped at the chance to design plans for track home developments, apartments, and commercial buildings.
Brian returned to CEA 4 years ago to come full circle to the company he helped create 20 years earlier. He is responsible for a variety of work within the company. Running loads on projects, the design and drafting of HVAC systems for residential and commercial projects. Doing field work, site surveys, and punch walks to verify conformity to the design.
M.Eng. - Mechanical Engineering
David came to the U.S. after achieving a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in his native United Kingdom. After a few years skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains, he returned to his engineering career in public infrastructure, where he designed mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems for some of the largest public transit subway and commuter rail projects across the western United States including Sound Transit in Seattle, BART in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Los Angeles Metro, as well as performing code and contract compliance reviews and managing project commissioning for public sector clients.
David came to Bend after visiting for years and joined CEA to merge his love of the mountains and the outdoors with his engineering career in HVAC and plumbing design to support central Oregon in its explosive growth.
