From spearheading MEP design initiatives to driving retro-commissioning efforts, Kyle's journey also includes a pivotal role as the Director of Engineering for a pioneering decentralized wastewater treatment startup.
As Principal Engineer, Kyle serves as the guiding force behind our firm's design principles and philosophy while simultaneously engaging in business development endeavors and cultivating strong client relationships. Given the size and scope of our firm, Kyle is very involved on every project that comes into our office, ensuring that our permit submittals are the very best in both engineering design and drawing presentation.
Ronald S. Timko, P.E., LEED AP Electrical Department Manager
Education The University of Toledo B.S. - Electrical Engineering General Experience Starting with MDA Engineering in 1994 as a draftsman while attending school, Ron has progressed into an engineer/designer, obtained his professional engineering license, and is presently the Electrical Department Manager for the firm. Ron has over 20 years of experience in commercial, residential, research and development, educational, industrial, religious, municipal and health care facilities.
Engineering responsibilities include power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, access control, CCTV and control systems plus telecommunications cabling for voice and data systems. Ron also specializes in power system analysis including fault, load flow, time current coordination and arc flash studies utilizing computer hardware and the training he has received.
David Hawley Mechanical Engineer
Education Heriot-Watt University M.Eng. - Mechanical Engineering General Experience David arrived in the United States after completing his master’s degree in mechanical engineering in his native United Kingdom. He launched his career in public infrastructure, focusing on the design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for major public transit subway and commuter rail projects across the western United States. Notable projects include Sound Transit in Seattle, BART in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Los Angeles Metro. David also handled code and contract compliance reviews and managed project commissioning for public sector clients.
Since joining CEA, David has concentrated on mechanical and plumbing design across various project types, including office, commercial, and retail spaces, apartment complexes, food service facilities, and luxury residences.
Brian Burger MEP Designer/Drafter
Education High Tech Institute A.A. - Architecture
General Experience Brian has a diverse background in the design industry, spanning aviation, architecture, and MEP design. Following his education, he began his career at Boeing in Seattle, initially contributing to the Boeing 777 project before transitioning to the design team for the F22 Raptor. Upon returning to Bend, he worked as a consultant for Boeing, focusing on designing and fabricating aviation ground support equipment for specialized planes like the AWAX and Air Force One.
Brian is one of the original members of CEA, and after over a decade long hiatus, he returned six years ago to CEA. In his current role, he handles a variety of tasks including running loads on projects, designing and drafting HVAC systems for residential and commercial projects, conducting field work, site surveys, and punch walks to ensure adherence to design specifications.
